This is such an excellent and necessary article, Kathy. Thank you so much for putting these truths into words.
Although Nuttall may appear a bit rough and ready, he is an intelligent man, who seems reasonable enough in many regards. I suspect that if you were to suggest a meeting over lunch, or whatever, to discuss these matters, he would at least be ready to listen to the views of a respected conservative academic and writer such as yourself.
There is, after all, much evidence for anti-feminism being one cause of Donald Trump’s rise. Milo’s university tour received an incredibly enthusiastic response from the public. Mike Buchanan has posted on his website an interview with Kelly-Anne Conway, in which she says the reaction against establishment political correctness was a significant contributing factor in garnering support.
And if it needs to be spelled out any more clearly, we have material like this:
“Pollsters found that reminding men about gender issues, specifically whether they earned more or less than their partner, led to a huge 24-point swing away from the female presidential candidate to the male alternative.”
So presumably quite a good way of taking votes away from Theresa ‘this is what a feminist looks like’ May.But I think above all, if it were to be outlined to Mr Nuttall how a more radical stance would not just lay waste to Corbyn’s high-handed Islington socialism, but rather smash it irreparably to smithereens, then he might just give the argument some consideration.
