I am reminded of that classic interview between the late Steve Hewlett and James Harding in January 2017, when Steve Hewlett suggests there just might be a bit of groupthink at the BBC.
When James Harding is asked ‘Do you know ANYBODY on the journalistic or editorial staff at the BBC who is pro-Trump?’ there is a momentary silence, and then avoidance, which tells us all we need to know.
There is absolutely no diversity of thought at the BBC, in fact I would even go on to suggest that there is absolute fear on veering from the approved thought. This has been evidenced from Borisgate this last week.
Gavin Esler’s sneering opinions will be shared by almost everybody on the journalistic or editorial staff at the BBC.
