The Larsens make it obviously clear on their very smart website that they have strong, Christian beliefs. Just on the Google intro line it states, ‘We want to magnify Christ like a telescope’. So, it’s obvious who they are, what they do (most professional) and what their values are and, seemingly, a successful and going-places business.
I would guess that made them a huge target for the more militant (and tiny minority big mouth) fascistas that want to turn the world upside down. Knowing the Larsens are not going to want to film same-sex weddings, they’ve gone for them with backing from weak-minded, fearful (aka inadequate) officials or infiltrated sympathisers actually in office, and I expect the lawyers don’t mind the business.
Apart from the monstrous attack on freedom of speech this is a matter of choice in business.
If a same-sex couple wanting a video of their wedding are turned down by the Larsens, then so be it. Move on to a company that will film it. The Larsens lose the business but that is their choice through their principles and their personal beliefs.
Having a big hissy fit because you can’t make someone do what you want makes you look very stupid and infantile. It is time for these people to come out . . . of the playground. And Grow Up.
However, if this isn’t just a hissy fit, then it is a concerted attack on different values to their agenda and that, quite frankly, is evil. They don’t know what they are doing.
Anyway, this should NOT, ever, be something that has to go to litigation.
