In response to Kathy Gyngell: Bobbies in burkas is the mad child of Macpherson’s racist verdict on the police, Take back the Streets wrote:

“Macpherson completely missed the institutional corruption and incompetence at the heart of The Met which was one of the main causes of the Stephen Lawrence failure of justice. His findings, and government support, meant that corruption and incompetence are OK as long as you’re not perceived to be racist. Macpherson has a lot to answer for.”
