In response to Rev Julian Mann: St Polycarp’s martyrdom is a sign of things to come in our Godless age, David wrote:
Well said, Julian Mann. Your short, punchy articles are usually on target.
Erase the Christian God from society and a vigorous resurgence of barbarism soon becomes an ever present threat. Presently the West is accelerating down the slope…..
Building a society saturated with Christian thinking and practices took hundreds of years. But it is all being deliberately destroyed, and within a few short generations. In fact it is all but gone.
I was born in 1951 and the country of my childhood and youth has been almost utterly destroyed. Those few wise, brave voices of the 1960s and 1970s who warned of this, but who were all mocked and derided by the media, entertainers and politicos, were most prescient. It has all come to pass, and much more.
All the institutional churches have failed the nation, having not spoken out clearly against moral decline. Their trendy liberalism has been an utter failure. When churches follow society, failing to lead spiritually, all plunge into ruin.
As the prophet says, “where there is no vision, the people perish”.
But a remnant will still stand – as ever. May God bless them.
