The Right will never get anywhere as long as the Left controls the “non-partisan” broadcast media and the educational establishment. Any serious long-term strategy needs to include media reform, with the objective of letting a range of political opinions have equal access to their airwaves, and educational reform, with the objective of making the schools answerable to the parents rather than a national bureaucracy.
The Left has advanced so far because they never have had to justify their ideas in a public area. On the rare occasions they do debate in public, they have been able to set the terms of the debate and they have won before they first words are spoken. Most members of the general public have never heard the alternative points of view stated intelligently. Even nominal right wingers from my generation and younger can often be found repeating left wing talking points as a way of gaining some cheap social capital.
Attempting to advance a policy of social reform without reforming the media and education would be like trying to climb a hill dragging an anchor. Achievable in theory but very slow and very difficult and with a high risk that your gains will be undone at the next election.
