So, what’s the difference between him and Trump? Everyone said he’d never get elected with his past history, and he has much the same faults as you claim for Boris, such as ‘a lack of attention to detail, vaulting personal ambition, compulsive attention-seeking and a sometimes cavalier regard for accuracy’. But Trump did get elected and looking at America now, it doesn’t seem to be doing too badly.
Boris and Trump are very similar in many ways, and I suspect the general public are less worried about his marital situation than the media. One would hope that he would be aware of his personal shortcomings and adopt Churchill’s approach of appointing people to the various cabinet posts and letting them get on with the job under his general direction.
This is contrary to our present PM and indeed Cameron before her, neither of whom seem to trust anyone but themselves.
