Reader’s Comment: A drag on the party

In response to Statues of Liberty: Kathy Gyngell nominates Margaret Thatcher, the conservative revolutionary, Debs wrote:

Amazing that the Tory party could stab their most successful leader in the front and back, but are unable to summon up the strength to get rid of the liability that is May. Her ‘nasty party’ crack should have given the grey suits fair warning. The members, had they been allowed to vote, would not have put May in.

The Tories have not run out of ideas, but the person leading them and her Chancellor are totally devoid of vision and are a depressing drag on the party and country. It’s sapping the life out of government.
