In response to Kathy Gyngell: Only Le Pen can rescue France from its agony, Odo Saunders wrote:
Macron has openly stated that he has no coherent policy to deal with the terror threat currently facing France. Like Hollande he is simply prepared to state that it is now a fact of life. He has no political constituency in the National Assembly, and any attempt to introduce economic reforms would be thwarted by the infantile student body and communist-inspired trade unions. Under Macron the French way of life will be seriously threatened and the country could enter a period of terminal decline.
