Another factor in May’s intransigent pro EU ‘negotiating’ strategy is her complete ignoring of the EU existential crisis now engulfing it: Merkel going and Italy conducting a very well planned resistance to the EU command and control of its economy. She happily gives away all and any cards to the UK advantage. She is in fact acting FOR the EU, and AGAINST the interests of the UK – ‘in plain sight’. And the cabinet looks on, ‘supporting Theresa’ as Theresa supports all the EU demands. She wants to donate £39bn to the financially desperate EU, this was no mistake but as always dressed up as bumbling incompetence and unclarity. She is happy to give away the fishing grounds to the EU to use as they wish. She believes in the EU project, like Heath. She wants to rescue it. That explains May’s behaviour fully.
