The Brexit negotiations have entered what’s essentially a technical phase, with detailed discussion on EEA/EFTA, CETA, tariffs etc etc. Most of the commentariat and punditocracy find that boring, and in addition, for some of them, meaningful reportage and comment on it is actually beyond them.
They prefer Westminster political gossip, and will amplify or even invent it if need be. It sounds and feels like mostly froth.
