In response to Caroline Farrow: BBC whips up abortion hysteria over May reshuffle, Bridget wrote:
It was heartening to read Maria Caulfield’s response to the BPAS/Beeb online reaction to her appointment. She briefly made clear her position on current abortion legislation and followed it up with: ‘It’s a sad day in this country if you can’t have a different view to someone. To say that someone who has a different view cannot represent women is absolutely ridiculous.’ And that’s the point. BPAS, the BBC, Marie Stopes and so on, would all like everyone, women in particular because we are such an embarrassment, we conservative women, to shut up and stop disagreeing with any aspect of their activities.
