Except that it doesn’t work out that way – they still come back for more, if only to keep their nice, cosy, taxpayer-funded jobs and justify their existence.
This is similar to all the ‘liberal’ legislation since the late 60s – race relations, abortion, homosexuality, ‘women’s rights’, etc. Has any of this appeased the tub-thumpers and grievance-mongers? I think not.
This has also called to mind one of the first acts of Blair as PM – it seems like he couldn’t wait to ‘apologise’ for the Irish Potato Famine. Made all the difference, hasn’t it?
