In response to Ann Farmer’s thought for today: How the Loneliness Minister could make a difference, Hibernating Dormouse wrote:
‘Minister for Loneliness’ – Oh for God’s sake! Are we so dependent upon the government for every part of life? What happened to the stiff upper lip and people leading their own lives? Governments should try to run countries instead of running the lives of those within countries. Hugging the electorate and wanting to be our friends. I blame Tony Blair for making politics so personal and touchy-feely and after Diana died, we lost the plot.
