I wish him well, but I do think he is just another pop-up target as no one in power seems willing to support any control of immigration.
He could start by stating that immigrants do not come to this country for our benefit, but for their own. There may subsequently be some benefit to us, but that is not the driving force: migrants looking after their own interests is the driver, and I have no quibble with that motive. It is the responsibility of government to let in only those that we decide are to be let in. Our borders leak like a sieve, a dereliction of duty. Pathetic.
