The Tories treated fishing rights with disdain because they wanted to save the jobs and fat salaries of their supporters in the City.
This will go down as the sacrifice of the working class in favour of middle-class fat cats. Never mind that the devastation to fishing ports up and down our coasts inflicted by their one-time leader, Edward Heath, will continue.
Just as the bailout of the banks paid for by the less well-off was.
The Tories certainly look after their own, don’t they? And people will notice, count on that.
