I think one of the biggest problems with the tax system is its virtually exclusive focus on individuals and not families. Married couples should be able to share their tax thresholds. This would make single-earner households much more economically viable which is good for fathers, mothers and most importantly children. Single motherhood needs to be discouraged through not having access to these sort of arrangements.
