Reader’s Comment: May leads the second incarnation of New Labour

In response to Kathy Gyngell: Hammond’s daycare splurge completes feminist takeover of Tory party, James wrote:

Excellent and courageous analysis.

The party that Mrs May leads today isn’t so much the Conservative Party as New Labour v2.0. Mr Hammond just underlined in Wednesday in his Budget what many of us have known for years.

It’s only too clear now that when she talked about the “Nasty Party”, what Mrs May really meant were just decent conservative values – the family, sound money and honest labour.

So the attacks on the family will continue and intensify, and divisive campaigns like feminism, “anti-racism” and obsessions with trivia like “transgender issues” will be energised by more state funding and support.
