Apropos Little Black Sambo: I read it as an eight-year-old and felt moved by his forbearance in the face of cruel exploitation by the tigers and awed at his ingenuity in turning the tables on his oppressors. He was one of my childhood heroes.

No doubt all copies have been burnt on the bonfires of self-righteous rage but you can still read it online:
