Marx predicted that the industrial workers of the world would rise up and revolt to embrace his ideology. But unsurprisingly he got that very wrong. In fact it only really successfully took root in pre-capitalist, undemocratic, agrarian-based societies with mass peasant populations. Pre-capitalist countries where the population were not even urban-based i.e. Russia, China, Cambodia. Societies that had not seen the real benefits of capitalism. Capitalism has been the greatest enabler of the working poor the world has ever seen.
