In response to Rev Julian Mann: Bishops are not powerless against the present spiritual disorder, Vox Populi wrote:

The Clergy Discipline Measure has led to the bishops having the wrong sort of weaponry in their armour. It is this that is being deployed against faithful conservative clergy. On the other hand, it is almost impossible to use the CDM against a bishop because he is protected by a magic circle of ecclesiastical judges (all paid by the C of E) and rigged tribunals. The entire thing is a farce. The scandal is that bishops are accountable to nobody. You can impeach the President of the United States but you cannot get rid of a bishop!
