In response to Karen Harradine on why Jews still cling to Labour, PierrePendre wrote:
Harradine’s analysis is similar to the explanation for the loyalty of American Jews to the Democratic party which survived even Obama’s overt hostility to Israel and his personal invention of West Bank settlement building as a barrier to peace talks. Naturally Abbas seized the gift with both hands while Obama openly went after Israel. Obama pretended that his fight was with Netanyahu rather than Israel but he tilted pro-Palestinian and pro-Muslim in general however much the liberal MSM swore otherwise. (Netanyahu didn’t help by polishing Obama’s clock at a meeting in the White House which forced the American media into a paroxysm of nationalist outrage on behalf of their boy.) When it came to the Iran deal that paved the way to an Iranian bomb aimed at Israel in a set time frame, even Chuck Schumer blinked but he still backed it. I suppose British Jews who cling to Labour do so in part because they think that on the basis that nothing is forever, Corbyn and Momentum will pass and normal business will be resumed. But the influence of anti-Semites in Labour is due almost entirely to the party’s dependence on Muslim votes which means normal business will never be the same again.
