I agree, Parkinson was right to stay with his wife and a couple should do their best to patch up a marriage after infidelity.
I’m afraid, however, I have absolutely no sympathy over him being “vilified” for abandoning his daughter. He played a role in her conception (take note, everyone talking about how Keays deviously “got herself pregnant”) and therefore was morally obliged to take on his share of the responsibility – a monthly pay cheque just isn’t enough when it comes to parental involvement.
As for no contact with his child being stipulated by his wife, well – if he’d really cared that deeply about her feelings, then he shouldn’t have had an affair in the first place.
