This is exactly why 4 million people voted UKIP. I was one because I could see there was not even a shaft of light between the three main parties – they are all liberal/socialist. Or illiberal if you dare to disagree with PC statements.
The important areas you mention of defence, policing and local government have suffered catastrophically because of this enormous welfare system. There will be a huge problem. MI5 stated yesterday that the Islamic terror threat to this country is very high. Local government is no longer able to provide basic services – our refuse tip is having the hours reduced more and more, which means more fly tipping, and the Victorian libraries which helped to educate generations are now being put into voluntary hands.
Policing is in crisis – Lincolnshire may go bankrupt! Policing will no longer be community based, but will become regional, meaning that outside cities there will be very little cover. Where I live, a 999 call elicits a response from 20 miles away. We used to have our own police station, which is now flats.
