In response to Kathy Gyngell: ‘Assisted dying’ is just State sanctioned killing, Patsy wrote:

Kathy is right here. Assisted suicide is a nonsense. There is no law preventing a person from ending their life, if you wish to do so you can carry on. This Bill is about involving another person in ending your life, therefore, involving them in murder. Doctors swear an oath to care for their patients, you cannot expect them to carry your death on their conscience – this is the ultimate selfishness. And how can you expect someone you love to kill you – how selfish to depart this life leaving them to live with this.
