Militant atheists are mercifully in a relatively small minority in the UK – though not in the Labour Party.
But the UK is constitutionally a tolerant Christian country. Polls show strong support both for the proposition that it is, and ought to be, a Christian country. Therefore Christianity should be taught in all schools – not that all pupils should be made to believe in Christian doctrine, but they should be aware of it.
