In response to Philippa Taylor: A £50,000 womb transplant for a handful of infertile women? Why not adoption? Tricia wrote:
This is the disease of our time. Someone has to fix your problem, you cannot accept that you will be childless. This has been a fact of life forever – some women will not bear children. This is sad for the individual but it is not life threatening. The over simplification of this to fawn over people and enhance their victimhood is typical of decisions taken nowadays. There is no consideration of the cost and how money could be better spent in saving lives. But the most disturbing part of this is what it leads us to. The use of wombs to grow children at the whim of man. The idea of farming human beings will be the ultimate destination for this research. Anybody read Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World?
