In response to Jane Kelly: State school teachers have destroyed English education. They should all be sacked, LeoSavantt wrote:

Bring back grammar schools, abolish comprehensives and, most importantly, abolish teacher training (which is the real culprit). The lowering of standards is a deliberate, culturally Marxist attempt by leftist teaching unions to destroy our culture.

40 years ago the UK had one of the most highly educated populations in human history, now levels of literacy have fallen to below those the late Victorian period. The Left deliberately destroyed a great achievement – an educated working class. Literacy, numeracy and quality education for all – now gone, sacrificed on the spiteful altar of Marxist dogma.
