Please don’t apologise Ms Gyngell.
I have been on this earth a very long time and from the bitter experiences of both mine and several female friends, I would never choose to be treated by a woman doctor. Obviously this does not mean that all women doctors are bad, but the percentages compared to male doctors is worrying. Not only were their diagnoses wrong but their lack of compassion for other women, was frightening. I am absolutely certain of this.
The increasing numbers of their like scares the life out of me as I grow old. My son-in-law is a doctor and my granddaughter is about to qualify as one. I pray that she will not go along this path. She will have me to answer to.
Incoherently, perhaps, an Oldie.
