In response to Mark Ellse: The price of a multicultural society is authoritarian rule, Otto Crum wrote:
What is certainly happening is that the shire English are withdrawing into themselves. Not visiting London very often and not taking their children or grandchildren there is one thing. It is a slow process but inevitable.
Country events are almost exclusively monocultural and to anyone other than the English probably baffling and unwelcoming. Not deliberately as the English are by nature polite but effectively closed to outsiders.
Just attend a country fair or steam/ canal rally or any of the very many steam railways across the land. Such events are nearly 100 per cent monocultural.
So multiculturalism cuts both ways and this is now so ingrained in this land that it is irreversible. Liberalism does not see it but then liberalism does not do reality.
