In respone to David Keighley: The BBC might ditch the Met Office but not its obsession with climate change, bewick wrote:
The BBC and the alarmists are supremely arrogant, not to say stupid, in apparently believing that mankind is so powerful that we can stop or limit climate change.
They, of course, believe that we caused it in the first place and in just 200 or so years. That completely ignores the FACT that the climate of earth has changed throughout its history and even without mankind being in existence.
There have also been “mini” changes over short periods also unconnected with mankind’s activities. The “warm” periods when grapevines were cultivated as far north as Yorkshire for example. That happened, I think, around the time of Roman occupation and also in the Middle Ages and, possibly, now.
Then, of course, we had the mini Ice Ages when markets were held ON the surface of the Thames. Nature will do as nature does, whatever mankind may do.
