I only scanned Laurie Penny’s tediously self-obsessed article, but it was enough for me to see exactly why she has a problem finding a good man.
All she talks about is herself. She appears to have no interest in what she might contribute to a relationship with a man, what she has to offer him, or what life they might make together. Which man in their right mind would want to burden himself with this criminally boring woman?
She’ll end up either alone (which she’s trying to delude herself is good), or with some poor emotionally-crippled metro-man who will cling on until she dumps the poor sod, or she’ll start to get needy herself and cling on but find all the best guys are bagged. Then she can write about how all the men she meets are useless and awful (…oh, hang on, isn’t she starting to do that? How old is she…).
Just checked; she’s 29. Yeah, the clock’s started ticking big time. Not yet past the sell-by, but the best-before date for a brand new girl with no baggage expired a while back.
