A lot of women I’ve known from university onwards have ended up not having children, and generally not by design. One the whole, I think they over-estimated their chances of finding a man who would at least match their intelligence and earning potential. Meanwhile those men have pursued other priorities with other women.
I’ve concluded that many bright and sensible women are complacent about marriage and babies because they assume men will prioritise those attributes in selecting a mate, as they would. One of several ways that feminism has brought about this unfavourable outcome for women is that it has encouraged them to overlook this fundamental difference between the sexes.
