In response to Paul T Horgan: The Soviet gulag was just as evil as the Nazi gas chamber, the baracus wrote:
The issue here is that the victors always write history. When viewed through the paradigm that has been currently propagated, that right wing is national socialism and left wing is socialism – it is currently socially acceptable for one to be of the left (as this is perceived as someone with their heart in the right place, albeit misguided), but not to be of the right (as you must be a hateful Tory fascist scum).
The clue is always in the name – there is faint difference between National Socialism and Socialism. They are both systems of state control with identity politics defining the good and bad elements of the State. With National Socialism, this was defined as race and with communism as class.
Both are two sides of the same coin and the current left vs right philosophy is nonsense.
Ironically, those that are generally accused of being on the right tend towards freedom from state control and democracy (such as Ukip). However they tend to be vilified by the current liberal elite, such as the BBC.
To summarise, whilst the Left maintain control of education policy and the BBC, this incorrect narrative will remain. It is time that these levers of control are removed from those with this false agenda.
