Reader’s Comment of the Day: The BBC always smuggles through a lefty message

You can hear it in most news bulletins – you are expected to ignore everything before the ‘but’ and after the ‘but’ will be the (of course lefty) message the BBC wants to leave you with.

I first noticed this in Gulf War 1;

‘Coalition forces have made good ground northwards, RAF jets have made several successful sorties But (and here’s some red meat for our lefty brothers) a British tank was destroyed by a mine close to Basrah’

Listen out – you will hear it all the time.
