In a similar vein, the BBC in considering the word ‘Terrorists’ says:
‘….The words ‘terror’ and ‘terrorist’ may be used in a non-specific context, or in direct quotes – but it is not for us to label a particular group or specific act as terrorist.’
I bet the BBC don’t want to use the label. That would be dangerously close to providing audiences with an unadulterated version of the news.
