I am hopeful that the next generation are beginning to see through this charade that we now live in. They can see that having a baby is hard work on your own. They can see that buying a house on your own is nigh impossible; they can see that co-habitation is transitory.
Many young mums have said to me how they want to stay at home with their children and are working part time or childminding. My granddaughter of 18 wistfully said to me “people used to get married and stay together didn’t they?”. I answered, “Yes they did and I’m hoping your generation is going to have the sense to return to that”.
