This is very true – in many universities today you can be considered a trouble-maker if you appeared to be a non-conformist – someone who questioned the absolute world view of left-wing politics would not last long in many of today’s educational establishments.
Many of these staunch militants will describe themselves as ‘liberals’ but their firm conformist mindset is far from what I would consider classical liberalism which was was about individualism and against sheep-like collectivism.
Today’s ‘liberals’ are psuedo-liberals who favour conformity, collectivism and an expanding authoritarian government with more restrictive laws and regulations. This is not ‘liberalism’ in the classic sense – this is tyranny dressed up as liberalism with an instinct for being creative when using language to promote their biased agendas – an abuse of the English language that George Orwell fully understood and forewarned.
Leaders they are certainly not – tyrants would be a better description.
