If Ukip get near to 15 per cent of the vote but few seats it will be seen by the mainstream media as a huge defeat, but going from 3 per cent to 15 per cent in five years would be a definite victory spoiled only by the voting system. And for those saying Ukip is just ‘a protest vote’ they should look at the SNP, who were in a similar position to Ukip several years ago.
