In response to Chris McGovern: The blackboard jungle is no work of fiction. Heads must tackle sexual assaults at school, Time Traveller wrote:
Can we really believe these figures originating, I believe, from the left-leaning and feminised NSPCC and promulgated via the left-leaning and feminised BBC? It’s a bit of a stretch given that the story appears to be based on a single prosecution and 4,999 other claims that have not resulted in prosecution (unless, of course, their details have been omitted).
Over at Spiked, Luke Gittos believes this story to be an indication of adult hysteria: “Today, we are increasingly recasting harmless events, and other ambiguous moments in young people’s sexual development, as sexual violence”.
I think he may have a point when your article includes the sentence “Some of the child(ren) involved as abuser and as victim were just five years old”. Is it possible that children playing the age-old game of doctors and nurses have now been recast as victims and abusers?
I know that schools and education authorities are versed in the art of PR spin but charities, the BBC and police are not above it either.
