In response to Kathy Gyngell: A feminazi lesson from top private head. Boys should be brainwashed into taking girls seriously, AKM wrote:
I can’t think of anything more likely to promote a lack of respect for girls than lessons on how to take girls seriously. You can teach men to be polite and treat women with kid gloves but that does not really encourage men to give women the sort of worshipful respect that the feminazis demand. If women want to be taken seriously then behave in a serious way. Promoting fantasies over the real world does not count.
Thinking a little more about it. Women have traditionally got respect from men in two ways; by being good mothers or simply by being competent at their work, whether they’re competing with men directly or working in a traditionally feminine role such as nursing or teaching.
Frankly, this isn’t any different from how man get respect from other men.
What loses women (and men for that matter) respect is attempting to demand more respect than is actually deserved. You will never get more respect or be taken seriously if you have to stamp your feet and scream yourself sick like Violet Elizabeth Bott. It just doesn’t work like that.
