What are the proportions of Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish authors among those nominated? Are the different regions of England equally represented? What about the ages of the authors and their class and social backgrounds? What about the numbers of male and female authors? How many are trans? What about their sexuality? How many are disabled? Do authors with a criminal record get a fair chance? The opportunities for PC meddlers are limitless!
