In response to Laura Perrins: Frustrated feminists would love a night of passion with Poldark, Sissi wrote:
Thanks for a sensible opinion, Laura.
This uproar about Poldark is ridiculous and unbelievable. I don’t live in UK but have been following the series for it’s nice entertainment. By reading the social media and most UK news, one could easily get the idea that there has been committed a real-life crime on screen.
Whatever happened to the freedom of artistic creativity? Haven’t the creators of TV shows licence to make ambiguous and even controversial interpretations anymore? What would art or even mere entertainment be without controversy? And the idea that people now, after seeing an episode of historical fiction, would reformulate their concept of rape, is condescending and stupid beyond measure. People can spot the difference between fact and fiction which these screaming SJWs don’t seem to understand. Or don’t want to.
