Jesus commanded people to give to the poor but he didn’t command others to rob the rich as Marxism does. This is fundamental. Jesus’s command requires that some people are in an economic position to help others whereas Marxism declares it is a crime to own property. Jesus also knew that these donations would not end poverty because He said the poor would always be with us. Marxism is fuelled by hatred and jealousy whereas Jesus’s commands are about advancing God’s kingdom. There is no nice way to put this: Christians who equate Marxism with the Gospels are simply showing their religious illiteracy.
