Let’s be realistic here: the murder of Jo Cox was a dreadful crime but it had nothing to do with Brexit – it was the action of a nutter. And while tragic for those concerned no one had ever heard of her and nor had she done anything of note. The way it was handled, all to do with underpinning ‘Remain’, was unwarranted. And I do not recall the same respect being shown to other MPs who were murdered, such as Airey Neave, who was a gallant man and had served the State with great distinction.
