Who is to step down?
Let me try to guess. When was the last time any politician voluntarily stepped out of a position of well-paid privilege and power on a point of honour, without being pushed and without using their contacts to ease themselves quietly back in again a short while after, once the dust had settled and everyone was looking the other way?
Since I am struggling to remember, and neither Chakrabarti nor Corbyn have displayed any awareness of what a point of honour might involve, I will stick with the assumption that neither of them will see any reason whatsoever to do anything other than carry on as before; probably while hiding under a cloak of injured innocence.
