The Conservatives are deadbeats.
The fact that they are now trying to outlabour Labour by throwing more money they don’t have at the NHS shows that they are dead intellectually. And you can add to that all the other authoritarian interventionist junk we have had from May over the last couple of years.
Frankly, I just don’t see them coming back from this position – or see any point in them coming back.
So yes, do let’s have an election. With a bit of luck this would give the Tories a push towards final disintegration and we could start thinking about something to replace them with. At the same time, it would give younger people a demonstration of socialism, which would stand them in good stead.
Make no mistake, we are heading towards a socialist government anyway. Having an election now will just let us get over this unpleasantness and start rebuilding a bit.
