Until I hear a woman who has miscarried say ‘I lost the foetus’ instead of ‘baby’ I will continue to call that lifeform inside a baby.
But we don’t because what we are talking about here is really whether or not the baby is wanted. When it is unwanted it is dehumanised to a ‘foetus’ or a ‘collection of cells’.
