Oh, Welby isn’t discombobulated. He knows exactly what he’s doing. Rather than stick to the message of God, his new master is the changing social climate. Like any virtue-signaller, he’s grabbing hold of whichever fashionable topic rides the wind and fervently regurgitating it in the same way we’ve heard from politicians and celebrities. He is supposed to be above all that but, for him, it’s about riding the wave of popularity rather than speaking and teaching the word of God. When the time comes, he will be judged and, I believe, will be found wanting.
