Our media coverage of the EU is shameful. The only Brexit newspaper is the Express. The Mail has a few Brexit articles but others barely mention the EU. The BBC is on the EU payroll and the other channels have been got at too, all following the Remain line. If you don’t make an effort to go online and find out about the EU you can remain incredibly ignorant, which is of course the way the EU likes it. Many believe that the ‘status quo’ is safer, the absolute opposite of what the EU is, a EUSSR project in progress.
We are smug and complacent in this country. Nothing terrible has happened to us for centuries. The UK hasn’t suffered from invasion by an alien country, or been destroyed by war, unlike every country on the European mainland, so we think it can never happen here.
